▶ Your Answer : People have different opinions on whether museums should charge for admission or not. Some assert that museums should get their admission fee from the public for improvement of the museums. However, I strongly believe that museums do not have to charge for admission. This is because it attracts more visitors to museums, which can help the economy. On the one hand, it is true that museums can be maintained and refurbished by charging people for admission, since the money from visitors can be spent on the development of musuems. According to reasearch conducted by Korea National University, most museums in Korea used more that 80% of thier income for the maintenance, and the satisfaction of the visitors who visit the museums that they should pay admission fee is much higher that the others who visit free public museums. In this regard, by charging people for admission, it is beneficial for museum to be imporved and it can make people satified with their experience about the museums they visit. On the other hand, charging people for admission can limit their visits. Many well-known museums have charger higher admission fee that visitors' budget. For example, when I travelled abroad, I wanted to visit the museum there in order to experience their distinctive culture. However, since the admission fee was more expensive than my budget, I could not enjoy visiting the museum. If many goverments all over the world manage their public museums as free, it would attract more and more tourists, which can strengthen their ecnomies. In this sense, there are more advantages by letting people admit to museum for free. In conclusion, despite the fact that museums can be decorated and maintained well by charging people for admission to museums, I agree with the fact that the disadvantages of this outweigh the advantages. |
