Your Answer ▼ It is true that modern governments put a lot amount of capital on the sports industry. While there are various reasons for them to do this, the major reason is that they can strengthen their country's image by sponsoring events.
For one, funding for the sports field has a positive impact on many nations because citizens growing interest lead to help other industries' growth as well, such as gyms or sports equipment. Also, if a country focus on fostering the nation's sports, not only citizens in country start having interest, but foreigners also have interest in the country. For example, Korea national sports Tae Kwon Do was not famous as now in the past years. However, increasing fund for Tae Kwon Do make Korean people get to know it well. Therefore, many foreigners had started to show their interest in Tae Kwon Do. They even came to visit Korea and some of them experience Tae Kwon Do directly.
Secondly, I agree with funding for the sports industry because it leads to many positive effects on country's development. More people entertain their country's sports, more people are able to have healthier lives. This also stimulates the economy in the country. In China, since Yao Ming had played in the NBAA, basketball has become their second most popular sports followed by table tennis. Its popularity leads to grow their sports equipment industries, such as sports shoes or uniforsm. Moreover, their national basketball team won the championship among the Asian teams.
To sum up, it is clear that spending nation's money on growing sports industry has benefits on their country. This is the reason why many countries all over the world should encourage to fund for the industry. |
