Undoubtedly,
friends and teachers play a significant role in students’ daily lives where they
study and play. Whether teachers have more powerful impacts than peers or not
is a contentious issue. However, I agree with the opinion that students get more
influences by their teachers than by friends for the following reasons.
To
begin with, in terms of emotional growth, students are able to depend on their
teachers rather than peers. This is because teachers have a lot of experiences
with their students who have various issues such as relationships and self-esteem.
Therefore, they can give students proper advices based on their previous real cases,
and it helps students feel safe and reliable. This emotional support ends up have
a positive effect on emotional stability and trustworthy.
Also,
considering teachers’ professionalism, teachers are the best person to show the
effective way for students’ academic achievement. The reason is why they spend
their own time and energy to develop better educational methodologies and
create a qualified curriculum for their student. According to the study conducted
by Harvard university, the students studying with teachers got 20% higher scores
in a math exam compared to the others studying with their peers in the same period.
All things considered, I believe that the importance
of teachers far outweigh those of peers in student’s growth in both an academic
aspect and an emotional aspect for the reasons I have mentioned above. |
