Your Answer ▼ It is true that spending money on building more railways or roads has each advantages. Althoug constructing roads will give us several benefits, i agree with the opinion that spending more money on railways is much more efficient, and hence governments should invest at building railways.
First of all, providing that the number of roads grew up, people will drive out with their private car, and this will lead to a huge air pollution. There are already many cars which cause global warming by polluting air, and if more reads built, it would be more harmful. However, if railways bult up, people will try to travel by subway, which is faster by various railways. For example, nowadays, there are some people who cannot commute by subway because of minor railways. As you can see from my father, he always told me, if there was a way to commute by subway, i would travel by it, not a car.
Also, since railways increase, the rate of traffic jam will decrease, following by the fall of car accidents also. It is the large number of cars in the narrow road that makes detrimental accidents. Specifically people would use subway when they travel, which will reduce using their cars. To illustrate, the place where the more railways built, the less people drive private car when commuting.
In conclusion, i firmly belive that governments should spend money on railways than roads, because more railways not only could reduce air pollution, but also drop the percentage of car accident.
