People learn in different ways. Some people learn by doing things; other people learn by reading about things; others learn by listening to people talk about things. Which of these methods of learning is best for you? Use specific examples to support your choice.
Every people have experiences directly or indirectly. When it comes to the question, ‘Which way to learn is more appropriate, doing thing or reading about things?’, I choose to learn by doing things. Although some people suggest that learning by reading is better than doing, I firmly believe that doing directly is the best way for me by two reasons: not only can I have get hands-on experiences, but also I want to do well.
To begin with, I prefer learning by doing things to by reading or listening because it gives me hands-on experiences. To compare other methods, doing things is more enjoyable. Both reading and listening are passive ways to learn. Moreover, those of methods are often boring process. Moreover, direct-experience can be retained longer than indirect-things, reading and listening. For instance, I like travel and try to go often somewhere if I am free. In fact, when I go to some place like a beautiful sea, mountain, and a famous city, I used to feeling refresh and fantastic. However, when I only read some books or listened to people’s saying, I could not feel anything. This was only fact from books or others’ experiences, not my experience. Furthermore, it didn’t last better than my experience.
Moreover, in order to learn to do some things well you have to learn by doing. Mistakes can be seen and corrected. Continued practice leads to improvement. For instance , Let’s suppose that we have to learn how to play musical instrument or speak a language only by reading guide books and listening. We would not probably absorb well by methods of learning. Particular, physical learning, swimming and speaking , requires truly physical learning like practice. Moreover, We can improve capacity from our own mistakes. When I practiced to ride a bike, I often came down. However, I tried again and again, I could recognize to correct my fault. Finally, by that experience, I succeed riding.
In conclusion, doing things is much better than reading and listening for learning. I firmly believe that experience is superior to knowledge. Wisdom is from experience, not knowledge.
