Some people might think that whether students’s rooms are tidy or messy does not have any impact on their success. This is because it is just one of their ways to live, which means it makes them feel comfortable, so it is not related to their success. However, in my opinion, tidy or messy rooms can be partially related to students’ individual successes for two reasons.
First of all, well-organised room reduces unnecessary time such as finding some stuffs or being distracted by around mess. It is obvious that it is easy for students to forget where they put some stuffs in a messy room. So, before starting something, those students with messy rooms always require time to find their stuffs such as books, notes, or clothes. Also, it is easy to be distracted when students are studying in a messy room because so many things are around their desks. However, in a tidy room, students can save those unnecessary time everyday and we cannot ignore those times if they are gathered. With that additional time, they could do more things they want to do or start something earlier. My personal experience illustrates this situation. When I was middle school students, I always messed up my room because it was convenient. But, whenever I want to start to study, it took time to find my books and pens and I was easily distracted by things such as comic books or board games in my desks. But, I decided to change my habit and started to keep my room tidy always when I entered the high school. Surprisingly, even though the only thing that was changed was just my room, my grades increased a lot because I could concentrate more on my study and read books in my free time that was come from tidy room.
Moreover, students with well-organised rooms have more probability to do other things in more systematic way. It can be inferred that people’s individual lifestyle applied consistently to almost every areas in their life such as cleaning rooms, studying methods, and organising daily plans. This means that a tidy room implies that those students with that room have more systematic method of studying and organised their daily plan thoroughly. This lifestyle lead students to be more successful since it reduces mistakes and makes them to do something they want everyday. In other words, we can infer that students with tidy room probably have certain ways they do and those style result more in successful life. A research conducted by a renowned professor named Kin from Pittsburgh university indicates that students who frequently clean their room and keep them neat attain their individual goals in a much more effectual way whereas having the same accomplishments is somewhat difficult for students who do not. Likewise, his research proves that my argument is convincing.
In conclusion, tidy or messy rooms can be partially related to students’ individual successes. This is attributed to the fact that well-organised room reduces unnecessary time such as finding some stuffs or being distracted by around mess and students with tidy rooms have more probability to do other things in more systematic way. |
