▶ Your Answer : It is debatable whether video games are effective educational tools for young children who are five to eight years old. This is an intriguing question because opinions concerning this issue can be different relying on the individual perspective. In My opinion, however, I support that playing video games are not effective educational tools for young children for the following reasons. First of all, the video games have a lot of negative effects on young children. To be more specific, the video games can make children addicted to the games. This is because children are very young, in other words, they are not enough reason to distinguish the time when the video game is stopped by themselves. Thus, If they continually play the video games, they can easily become addicted. And then, They forget the other important things they need to do such as homework. This situation causes the problems that young children’s educational goals are decrease instead of achieving the goals. For instance, according to a study conducted by the EBS(Educational Broadcasting system of Korea), the researcher of EBS divided two group from young children. One group is the children who is at least play video games for an hour, the other group is non-gamers. The study indicated that children playing video games had poor level of academic performance. In addition, the video games are harmful for young children’s eyes, because the video games are usually made with electronic machine. Therefore, the video game machine generate unvisual electronic waves. It makes children’s eyes more have bad sight. this problems can cause negative influence on studying of children such as reading books. as a result, this allows young children to have too many distractions. For example, my sister allowed her 8-year-old son to play a game called Cart Rider. When my nephew plays this game, he has bad sight. Although he need to took the glasses, he did not want to take one. this is because the glasses made he feel uncomfortable, which as a result allows he can not concentrate on studying others. according to my sister, this actually has negative effects on her son’s concentration as well as his school grades. In conclusion, I firmly believe that playing video games is ineffective activities for young children. All things considered, it is my belief that my argument regarding this topic has been efficiently and precisely delivered with the reasons mentioned above. |
