Some people think it’s
more important to support the arts than to protect the environment. However, in
my opinion, a company should give priority to preserving the environment rather
than developing the arts for the following reasons.
To begin with, people
can go unhealthy unless a company try to protect the environment. I’ll give you
an example of that.(이런 표현을 에세이에 써도 괜찮은가요?)
A decade ago, one company built an art gallery in a greenbelt zone in my
hometown. Even though people worried about the influence on the greenbelt’s nature,
the company argued that the art gallery would improve the arts tremendously. Unfortunately,
the atmosphere and water went bad and polluted due to the construction, then the
people who lived near the gallery were in jeopardy that they can’t help inhaling
and drinking a lot of pollutants and dirty matters. As a result, they suffered
from serious respiratory diseases and complications.
On top of that, from
a view of a worldwide climate change, it’s more important to conserve the
ecosystem and environment than to support the arts. To illustrate, a lot of rainforests
are destroyed now as unmeasurable timber is cut. When tall trees are removed,
forest understory is exposed to the sunlight directly. As a result, most of
fauna lost its habitats and disappear. It’s critical for the Earth’s climate, because
the plants in a rainforest reduce an amount of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse
gas, which elevates a degree of temperature of the Earth. It makes environmental
factors, such as (the?) atmosphere and (the?) sea current so changeable that a
number of people suffer from (an?) altered weather. For instance, Korean people
feel really upset due to hot and humid atmosphere in the summer, which goes
worse every year because of the greenhouse effect.
In this regard, for
people’s health and the Earth’s climate, a company should be concerned with the
environment when they make an investment. In conclusion, I strongly believe that
a company should focus on protecting the environment rather than supporting the
arts.
