She has been a professional shopper since she was seven years old. She has 218 pairs of shoes. She has VERSACE VIP membership card which can be obtained only after shopping VERCSACE products in five different continents. She held the second place at a beauty pageant and she loves pink. She was elected as a graduation speaker for the class of 2004 at Harvard Law School. In the speech, she said “Passion, courage of conviction and a strong sense of self are the key ingredients to take us to the next step of our life.” “You must always have faith in yourself."
She graduated from Harvard and joined one of the prestigious law firms in Boston. There seems to be an obvious contrast between the two persons; however, interestingly enough this is the same person who has it all. Let me introduce Ms. Elle Woods from the movie 'Legally Blonde'who I would like to be if I could choose one character from fiction. I like Elle because she has faith in herself and overcomes the prejudice. She is not the kind of person who is being intimidated by what others think of her and how others treat her. Her flashy appearance tends to generate prejudice against her, thinking she is only into her look and not interested in or not good at anything else;therefore not very intelligent.
However, Elle proves she is doing her best in all aspects of her life and overcomes that prejudice. Once she decides to go to Harvard, she gives up fun times like parties and studies really hard, and finally she makes it to Harvard. At Harvard, she gains the Internship which was available only for the top three students. After the graduation, she makes a partner to one of the reputable law firms in Boston. Elle overcomes the challenges and breaks the prejudice with great faith in herself. I like Elle because she achieves her goals in an honest way.
Being always honest and not compromising with reality is not as easy as it sounds. Just think about how often you compromise with injustice or reality. We all do it in varying degrees thinking that ‘just little bit’ would not hurt anyone or anything. This ‘just little bit’ is something makes Elle different from the others. Elle does not allow this ‘just little bit’ in whatever she does and she chooses to go a harder way. It also takes longer and there are more risks too, but she truly follows her heart.
In the end, Elle proves an honest voice is louder than a crowd. I like Elle because she does have it all which I could possibly want in my life. She has a fabulous look. She has a big wardrobe full of shoes, bags and dresses which all women would dream about. More importantly she knows how to use them to look her nice and appropriate for various occasions. Not only does she have the perfect appearance, but she also has great education and admired job. She even finds true love in her life. What else would you possibly want more?
When someone has everything you want to have, the human instinct tells you that you are jealous of that person. However, Elle is different. I like Elle very much because she has earned them all in an honest way. Elle has great faith in herself and passion too. And at the end she becomes successful in breaking the prejudice caused by her appearance. How many of us are as strong as Elle and consistently pursue the goals in life regardless of how discouraging the circumstances are? Not many, but Elle did it. How can I not like such a person like Elle? Elle Woods is the one who I want to be if I could choose one character from fiction.
Thank you.
