Some people think that the news media is a reliable source of unbiased information. However, in my opinion, the news media provides the public with biased information. This is because the news media behave for their economical interests and have their own political inclinations. To begin with, the news media behave for their interests. To be specific, a majority of the news media have limited funding. So, to manage their companies, they need to have many readers. As a result, in order to attract attention of public, they sometimes offer news that is provocative and is are provocative or fake. For example, there was the event that the news media provided the public with fake information in South Korea. In their news, they said that some companies produced Kimchi in unhygienic condition. So, many people stopped to buy Kimchi due to the news. It resulted in economical loss of many companies. However, after the investigation conducted by government, it is turned out that every companies produced Kimchi in hygienic condition. And They also could know that the news media wrote fake news to attract the public’s interest. This story indicates that the news media behaves for their interests. On top of that, the news media have their own political inclinations. It makes them have biased opinions about some events that are related to political events. This is because their political inclinations prevent the news media from judging objectively. For example, in South Korea, the government announced that the university’s tuition would be raised to provide better academic conditions for students. About this new policy, some conservative media usually wrote the news that show positive content of the policy. But However, (문장을 And/But으로 시작하는 것은 비격식적입니다.) other progressive media usually wrote the news that point out raised tuition’s negative effect. It means that according to their political inclination, the news media each gives the public different information. These different news offered a lot of uncertain information, and the public could not think about the problem accurately. To sum up, the news media behave for their economical interests and they have their own political inclinations. For these reasons, I do not think that the news media is a reliable source of unbiased information.
