As I have worked in my company for a quite long time, I have
been getting many junior coworkers. As more new employees are joining our team,
I began to consider how to be a good senior, boss, or even a good supervisor.
After long pondering about this issue, I reached two qualities of a good
leader.
First of all, the good boss should be aware of how to motivate
his or her employees. To be specific, the bosses should be willing to give
compliments toward good result or good workers. I know this from my recent
experience. A month ago, my team boss has changed. Unfortunately, he is not
happy with the current work process of my team so he has been only blaming and
scolding about almost the output of my team since he went to our team.
Naturally, our team members are depressed and lost confidences. Finally, the
excellent workers, who were always enthusiastic in bringing up creative ideas
and resulted in good outputs, quitted to give new opinions and to lead improvement,
but instead they are just looking for the ways to prepare excuses about the
blames, that have nothing to do with the productivity. From this experience, I
realized that how the motivation works in our self confidence in work places
and how it leads to a good productivity. Here, I strongly think that the good
leaders should appropriately cheer up the employees, raising their self-confidences.
Also, the good leaders are willing to listen to the others
opinion, especially to the team members’ thought. Normally, in work places, the
bosses hardly work by themselves but what they do is managing the organization
and making big decisions occasionally. Since the world changes so quickly nowadays,
the bosses who stopped to see the everyday status of the field can hardly judge
the situations of the market and give a new idea. On the other hand, the
employees, who directly face problems and solve them in the field, can lead
many improvements and innovations by using the know-how as well as experience
and by considering the world’s trend of the market. That is the employees have
the key to open innovations. That is why I think that the good leaders ought to
listen to their employees’ opinions carefully, in order to make the company get
improved.
To sum up, good leaders should be concentrate on how to activate
and cheer up the employees and how to accommodate the ideas of them. This is
because the movement of the company comes from the energy of the employees who
really work in the field for the company.
