▶ Your Answer :
There have been so many changes in human
society in the past few decades. People are living remarkably different lives
from those in the past. I agree with the statement that our lives have been improved
than before. This is because we are more convenient, more entertained, and
healthier than before.
To
begin with, technological development has made our lives more convenient. We
utilize a lot of electronic machines in everyday life, which were invented only
a few years ago. For example, I always use my smartphone when I study. Whenever
I have some questions about my class materials, I can find a lot of information
in Wikipedia. Hence, I do not need to go to the library to get heavy textbooks when
I have something to find. That is, fast improvement in technology helps people
to do their works more conveniently.
Moreover,
we can enjoy more entertainments than before. Show businesses are expanding
very fast so that there are a great number of suppliers of entertainments. For
instance, people can enjoy various concerts all the time. There are many
singers such as Justin Bieber and Beyonce who can provide amazing musical
performances. Whereas, it was difficult to enjoy the music or other
performances in the past since there was a lack of performers. In short, it is
obvious that people now live more enjoyable lives.
In
addition, we are not threatened by diseases as much as people in the past.
Since there has been improvement in medical technology, a lot of severe
diseases can be cured now. To be specific, my grandfather’s parents passed away
because of lung cancer. It was an incurable illness at that time. However, it
is now possible to treat patients with cancer thanks to many medical researches
and new medical equipment. Therefore, we have a high possibility of surviving
the fatal disease.
In
sum, we are now living in a better world than our grandparents. Our lives are
convenient with electronic machines, enjoyable with entertainments, and safe
from harsh diseases. Hence, I think our lives are easier and cozier than those
of our ancestors. The human society is consistently getting better, and our
children may have much greater lives when they become adults.
