▶ Your Answer :
There might be some people who believe that
grandparents’ advice is useful to their grandchildren as society develops.
However, I personally disagree with the above idea for the two subsequent
reasons. First, due to the development of society, grandparents’ advice becomes
out-dated. Second, grandchildren these days don’t have enough time to talk to
their grandparents.
First of all, it is not useful to get
advice from their grandparents. What this means is that due to the advent of
new electronic devices such as personal computers and smart phones, grandchildren
can get more useful and latest information very easily. These devices allows
grandchildren to be up-to-dated and keep up with today’s society. Let me bring
up my personal story as an example. Last year, I was planning to visit the
United States, so I needed information about this country. I started searching
the internet to obtain the information that I need. Through the Facebook and
Twitter, I was able to collect resources that I needed. If I had have got
information from my grandparents, I might not have obtained useful information and
my trip have been spoiled.
On the top of that, grandchildren nowadays
are too busy to spend their time with their grandparents. To be specific, they
are much busier due to the competitiveness of today’s society. They spend most
their time studying academic subjects and doing homework. As a result, it makes
it difficult for grandparents to understand the problems that their
grandchildren are facing. According to a study done by JYH institute of
sociology, it showed that people these days spend less than 1 hours with their
family. This is due to the fact that they have a hectic schedule to survive in
today’s competitive society. As a result, one of difficulties that people these
day have is that they cannot understand their family members and they have a
conflict so often. This clearly shows that grandparents cannot have enough time
with their grandchildren.
In conclusion, due to the development of
technology and insufficient time to spend with their grandparents, it is not a
good idea to get advice from their grandparents. In this regard, I strongly
believe that grandparents’ advice is not helpful to their grandchildren.
