In many cases, teachers express their opinions about economic or politics in front of students in schools. However, I strongly believe that it can has negative effect on their students. This is because teachers frequently convey their biased stances to their students. Additionally, students can pay excessive attention to social or political issues.
First, teachers sometimes convey their biased perspectives to their students in schools. Since political and social issues have controversy in many cases, people see them in various point of views. Thus, it is hard to judge which teachers’ views are right or not. Although teachers may believe that their perspectives about social or political issues are right, it can become biased stance in someone’ perspective. Therefore, teachers should not reveal their personal stances about social or political issues to their students in schools. For example, when I was a middle school student, my Korea history teacher always said that China was a country which was against my country. Thus, at that time, I was reluctant to buy products from the China and took a trip around there. However, when I think of it now, it was a apparent prejudiced perspective because China cooperated with my country for not only improving economy but solving social problems. Although he believed that his thinking was right, he had to consider about it deeply before he had said that.
Second, through listening to social or political view from teachers, students may pay their attention to that issues in an excessive way. In students-age, students should focus on studying for their futures because this time will not come to them again. However, sometimes, students waste their valuable time on improving society and politics in an excessive way. To be specific, some students demonstrate against government and offer menace to them. Since they do not have influence to change them, they seem to waste their valuable time. For example, thirty years ago, Korea had many problems of laws and politics, thus, many students criticized governments and army in a aggressive way. Although their purpose was pure and innovative, a great of them were killed of fight with soldiers. Since they did not change nothing, I believe that their behaviors were foolish. |
