Many students use sports facilities and the school library. They both are very important to students and necessary things in the university. However, there is something we need to think about. I used the library a lot when I was studying at school but I didn't use any of sports facilities such as gym, tennis court and baseball, basketball or soccer ground because I don't like sports. I don't think universities should give the same amount of money to both.
Like I mentioned above, I don't like sports and I don't need anything about sports. It is not just me, probably many students might feel like that. Since not many students like sports, they might think it's not fair for them if the university spends a lot on sports activities. However, every students in school use library even if they don't like to. They have work to do and they have to search in the library to do their assignment or study. I think the university should use the money depends on how important it is and how useful it is to students.
Secondly, students don't need sports facilities much. When the student wants to do some sports activities, she or he doesn't do it at school not because of the bad facilities but because they want to do it outside the campus. Outside the campus, there are better places because they focus on one specific subject. They probably have better facilities, better teachers, and more people who enjoy the sport. So the student can meet more variety people in there rather than just college students. It will give the students more opportunities to know lots of people in different age and who work in different fields.
People go to school to learn or study things they want. School is there for that purpose. School should offer better environment so students can focus on their study. Sometimes, students need to exercise while they are studying but they don't need fancy sports facilities. Therefore, I believe the universities should not spend the same amount of money for sports activities. |
