News Medias spotlight soccer players when the team won in a big match. However, they should spotlight the director as he leads the team. In this response, I strongly agree that being a leader is better than being a follower, since it is more satisfactory being in control, and also taking leader’s position offers more chance to develop skills.
First of all, it is more satisfying being in control. This is largely because being a leader offers chances to control group. As we make the group succeed, we can feel more accomplishment since we controlled the group. For example, when I was in middle school, I was voted as a class leader. As I led the class, my classmates followed me well and I felt happy. As I led my class to the top class of the school, I felt satisfaction and I cannot bet I could feel the same emotion, even though I was just a member.
Furthermore, working as a leader position, people will have more chance to develop their skills. Not all people are born with skills needed for leaders. However, as they take the leader position and start to work, they can learn the skills naturally. They can learn how to organize and plan since leaders use them frequently. To illustrate this point, when my brother was a school president in his high school, he was a beginner as a leader. However, as he do school works as a leader, he developed confidence and decision making skills. Therefore, people could learn the skills when they take leader positions.
To sum up, it is better to take leader positions than being a follower, since it is more satisfying to be in control and also can learn various skills. In this response, if people got chances to take leader position, they should take it immediately. |
