You have received a gift of money. The money is enough to buy either a piece of jewelry you like or tickets to a concert you want to attend. Which would you buy? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer. |
When I receive a gift of money and have two choices to do, buy tickets for concert or buy jewelry, I would prefer the second choice because jewelries are permanent, symbol of the rich, and fashionable. Firstly, once I bought jewelry, I can keep it until the end of my life and put it on everytime I want to ornament myself with it. That is to say, jewelries are permanent. On the other hand, when I buy a ticket to a concert, I can have only one chance to watch it, not whenever I want to. Secondly, having many jewelries means that a person is very rich. People think that the more jewelries one has, the much money he owns. However, going to concerts often does not mean that a person is rich. Moreover, the person might be criticized because others think that the person is spending too much money on entertainment. Thirdly, jewelries are very fashionable. Many expensive jewelries are cut sophisticatedly. In addition they are attractive because they are very bright because they glitters. For example, when a woman goes outside with a pair of big diamond earings on her eyes, everybody might feel that she looks very nice after they saw her big earings. In conclusion, although buying tickets to a concert can be more valuable in the aspect of resting and entertainment, I would prefer to buy jewelries rather than tickets to a concert because of its appearance and permanent existence. |
