이거도 역시 밑에랑 마찬가지러 6/24시험보기전에 올린거에요 다시한번 첨삭받고싶습니다.. (뭐그땐 답글도 없엇지만..)
Studying at a university is a essential part of out lives so it is widely accepted that we have to attend to universities. However, depending on a period people go to the school, some people say that students have to go to universities right after the graduation from highschool. And the opposite people claim that they it is better to go to the school with a year off after the graduation. Between those two, I believ that all the students should go to universities immediately due to the fact that going to universities right away can help students keep their studying pace, eliminates age differences, and if they do not apply for the school right away, requirements for the school applying can change.
To begin with, by learning deeper knowledge in universities, without any pause, students can keep their speed of studying stable. Studying hard continually helps students memorize some facts fast and also it can help them think more logically. Scientists say that humans develop their brain by continual thinking. This can be also applied to the students who study in colleges or universities. For instance, if students get college education without any time gap between the one of highschool and college, they eventually come to have stronger thinking ability. However, if they stop learning for quite a long period, the ability might diminish and eventually make difficult for them to study well in universities. Without the time between the schools, students can study better at universities.
Furthermore, if students take a year off after their highschool graduation, they might have different ages than their classmates. Most of the students enter universities at the age of twenty. Yet, if some students spend a year somewhere else and then go to college, they are twenty one, which is a year older than other students. Because of this, the student who is a year older may feel ashamed or stressful. In addition, he might not socialize with other students since they do not feel so intimate because of appearance, talking attitude, or different interests. To illustrate, when I was in the first grade of Massachusettes Institute of Technology, I was three years older than most of my classmates since I was Korean and therefore had a mandatory military service. Because I was a few years older, my seatmates nor my classmates did not want to talk with me. After spending several years and months their, and got friendly with them, I asked, "Why did not you guys talk to me?" And I found out that they were not comfortable with me since I looked a lot different and had a very different accent. Using a year after highschool graduation can make one's college experience feel a lot uncomfortable.
Finally, with a year, a requirement for university aplliance might change. This is a very common phenomenon in countries such as Korea that have controversial issues about how to evaluate applying students' skills and knowledge. Seoul Public University, which is the best university in Korea, changes its requirements every year so that they can better estimate levels of students. For exmaple, last year 2006, they deemed the grades at highschools important, however now they do not because most of the students applying Seoul Public University are the bests of many highschools so they all have good grades. So, this year they do not consider marks at highschools important. Instead, they test the students more sophisticated skills such as writing essays and conversation abilities.
With a year of traveling to somewhere right after the graduation of highschool can bring students dis-benefits such as an unstable pace of studying, an age gap and a need to study more to get into universities. In conclusion, I firmly belive that students should enter universities rightaway to have more comfortable lives in universities.
