Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The news media is a reliable source of unbiased information. Use specific reasons and examples to suppor your answer. |
Now, people can receive the news and hot issues from all around the world at almost same time, when a accident breaks out, such as wars, terrorisms and disaster. However, this kinds of news are not able to be seen as a transparent and accurate. Since the news media is related with the power and manipulated easily in the competition for the viewing rate, it is not such a honest resource.
To begin with, the media can be distorted by the external pressures. A huge number of people gain the news from the news media. Finally, the power of news has moved the public opinions and it has been stuck as a significant power. Thus, many privileged come to occupy the press, and the news gets distorted apart from the truth. For example, when a CEO of a big company committed the crime, the news attempt to reveal the news and inform widely. However, in a day, the news was disappeared soon. Everybody assume that there must have been the external effect by a dishonest means and the CEO who have a mighty power manipulated and hid the news.
In addition, the subjects attracting the viewers' interest are too prevalent. Because the more viewers and readers choose the media, the more profit the media can make. As a result, In the overheating of collecting materials, journalists lose honest-seeking mind and look for dynamic issues making people interesting. Also, to preoccupy the exclusive news, they broadcast the news awkwardly without no deep consideration or analyse. For instance, when 9.11 broke out, the world's news media scramble to make a report without any analyse about why and who commit the disaster. Then, too awkward cover rather makes people scare and seeing the same scene that the rescues save the injuries repeatedly a whole day was so boring without any upgraded detail information.
In conclusion, though many people are monitoring the news, I strongly believe that the news is an unreliable sources. The power and profit-seeking minded media continually has distorted and exaggerated the truths by its colossal power whether it is its own will or not and by their greed. Therefore, to be wise, people should raise their critical ability to know the right news. |
