It is debatable whether it is good to take the most difficult courses for learners. Some people insist that it will enhance their concentration and faculty of the course by studying hard to fully comprehend and study the subject. However I strongly disagree with this opinion because learning the most difficult courses is a complete waste of time and effort. Also, it hinders one from discovering their interst and potential ability.
First of all, I firmly claim that taking the most difficult courses will merely be time consuming. It is absolutely unrealistic to expect the student to keep up with a critically challenging studies. The learner would not even obtain sufficient amount of basic understanding since the courses are extremely difficult. The person is likely to struggle for the whole semester and will eventually fail the course. This is waste of effort of a student and will only discourage him. For example, during a summer vacation on my high school year, I chose to take a calculus class at the summer school. Even though I didn't have any fundamental knowledge on mathematics, I recklessly selected without any deliberation. Obviously, I ended up wasting hours of my precious time sitting at the class, listening to a lecture that I couldn't understand even a bit. I was frustrated about myself with my incapability to learn, and regretted for taking such a difficult course which didn't suit me at all.
In addition, I doubtlessly stress the fact that taking the most difficult courses will hamper a student from realizing their passion and hidden talent on a particular subject. This is mainly attributed to the fact that students become interested in courses or subjects that they can fluently absorb. This definitely makes a hard time for the students because they will have to do more studying to catch up with the courses. In this modern society, there is no time for students to focus on courses that just does not match with the students capacity to handle it. Finding their interest and developing it in to their specialized faculty is crucial in this present age. To illustrate, My cousin, Kio, entered a prominent engineering college last year. Since Kio was in kindergarten, she showed great faculty in mathematics. She would always choose mathematic course for her supplementary lessons throughout her school years. Surprisingly, despite her profound mathematical ability, she was not talented in any other subjects at all. If Kio took other courses rather than mathematics, she wouldn't have been accepted to the reputable school.
In brief, I strongly insist that learners should take courses that suits their ability to handle, and that they favor. The importance of avoiding very difficult courses should not be underestimated in terms of saving time and effort, and finding interests and talent.
Taking a course suited to one's future goal and ambition is essential especially in this competitive society.
