Do you agree with the following statement? "It is better for students to teach to be self-confident than teaching only specific knowledges". |
As the world perennially advances, the idea of education has continuously changed. Nowadays, some people contend that teachers should not just intend to teach but to grow their character. That's what I eagerly advocate. I think that teachers should teach students to be self-confident, not only specific knowledges. First and foremost, I agree with the statement that teaching to be self-confident is really important, because I think that being self-confident will be needed for students' future. When they come of age, they will have to run a business. Self-confidency is what is needed when running business. They will not withdraw easily in difficult situation because they believe themselves. Secondly, self-confidency directs to creativity. When someone is not self-confident, they will not be able to express their good ideas because they are not confident themselves and they will keep asking if it is ok, not expressing. So even if someone is creative but not self-confident, they will not be able to use their ability. Maybe someone would dispute my argument that even if self-confidency is present to people, they need to know something. Of course, knowledge is important for students and that's what educations are for. However, if they have been taught only knowledges without growing self-confidency, they will be much helpless than people who has grown self-confidency because they will be really quiet and will not express their knowledges. Because of these reasons stated above, It goes without saying that teaching self-confidency will be much helpful for students to be successful in the future.
