Topic60-Children should play sports for pleasure not for competition. Do you agree or disagree?
Attitudes conflict on whether it should be for pleasure to play sports not for competition. I stand for proponents of the view that children should not compete when they play sports. First, children can improve social skills when they play sports for pleasure. Second, kids can find emotional relief through sports unless they compete.
Fundamentally, social skills can be improved for children by playing sports for pleasure. The opposing side argues that children should play sports for pleasure not for competition. Advocates of this school of thought claims several arguments as the basis for their beliefs. It may appear valid on the surface but it does not withstand vigorous scrutiny. Actually, a flood of evidence renders their views erroneous. For instance, my particular observation reveals why sports should be played as for fun not for competition by children. Playing sports for pleasure shows outstanding effectiveness in improving social skills. Modern society admittedly requires people who surpass others both in specialty and sociability. To be more specific, interpersonal relationships and social skills are necessary qualifications for any successful person. Therefore, given the need for collaboration today, playing sports for pleasure clearly is more beneficial in building a more promising future. This supports the thesis that children should not play sports for competition.
In the second place, emotional relief can be found for kids through sports when they do not compete. Apart from a small portion of people who sided with the opposite idea, a significant majority of survey participants endorsed my point of view that it should be for pleasure for children to play sports not for competition. In the survey, an elementary school kid said that playing sports for pleasure at lunch time boosts his mood. He added that most of his classmates are also weary with too much stress. By enjoying sports, however, children can temporarily forget about their problems at school and gain some breathing space. In this respect, playing sports for fun, can be a great means of refreshing their minds. Such notions attest that children should not compete when they play sports.
Ultimately, it should not be for competition for children to play sports for the evidence that I have provided previously. First of all, kids can improve social skills unless they play sports for competition. Last but not least, children can relieve stress through sports when they play them for pleasure.
