▶ Your Answer :In the bible, the phrase “do not lie to anyone“ is suggested as one of the most important rules for one‘s life. That would be because the people in the old days thought telling the truth is a crucial factor for building bonds with anyone. However, I believe that it is not the most important consideration for it for two reasons. To begin with, speaking unhonestly does not harm trust between one and another. Rather, it could become a way to make it bold. For example, if one intentionally hails a friend whom he or she dislikes even if both are unacquainted with in the past, the friend could be moved with what the one said and both can strengthen their relationship. This common example shows that stating insincere opinion to another can be an effective way for maintaining a good networking. Secondly, considering the emotion of others, it is sometimes better to lie. For example, in a case that one could not make it on time due to sleeping late, if he or she speaks the reason for being late frankly to a peer, The friend might be emotionally disappointed with the one and the relationship between them could be aggravated. However, if the one gives fake grounds for being late such as traffic jams, the friend might understand him or her. In other words, as lying does not harm other people to get emotional wound, it could be a useful method for keeping a solid partnership. For the sake of solidarity and emotion, giving true statements everytime would not be the best strategy for keeping steadfast bonds with others. This thesis suggests that what bible the said could sometimes not be a perfect proverb in daily life. |
