It is highly controversial where the
government should invest in, especially when it comes to the issue of
education. Education is one of the most significant tasks in our society, no matter who the target is. However, when we
think of the government spending money, we should consider the efficiency and
the long-term effect the investment could bring
to our country, making it develop. Considering these the following two factors, I believe that the
government should spend more money on universities than on young children's education
for a country to develop.
To start
with, spending more money on universities can lead to many studies that are
helpful for the development of the country. A university is where academic
information is both learnt and produced at the same time. In other words, it is
the main institution to conduct researches and is where students can study
deeply in each field. The government can invest money to help improve lab
conditions of the universities, or to have more programs or faculties to help
students study deep into their fields. Those studies will be not only helpful
for the students themselves, but also for the
long-term development of the country.
Furthermore,
spending money on universities can play a role as raising to raise a highly-trained workforce. A university is
where students get information and get prepared before going to the real work
field. For example, universities hold various programs that support the
start-up entrepreneurs or that help students on their job interviews. Also,
they can invite successful people in each field to motivate the students. The
government can invest more money on these programs, so that students can get
more practical information, and get ready for their job. By experiencing these programs, the students will be
more trained to the job they want to get in the future, and those students have
a high possibility of being experts in their
work field, which is significant for a country to develop, having a competent workforce.
In conclusion, considering the
long-term effect it can bring to the development of the country, with various
studies and competent workforce, I believe the government should spend more
money on universities than on young children's education for a country to
develop.
