It is said that
people learn more from their peers than elders. However, in my opinion, older people
help us much more than peers. This is because they give a lot of advice and lessons.
To begin with,
older people provide us with practical tips. This is due to the fact they
underwent many problems in real situations and obtained technical know-how from these experiences. Thus, they offer us appropriate
solutions to the problem that we can undergo. For example, when I first started
to work at a motor company, I have difficulty in handling machines that I needed
for work. At that time, I had a coworker that worked together. When I asked him
several times, he did not know how to manipulate them perfectly/well. On the
other hand, the senior employees in my department taught me how to use it in
detail as well as how to adapt company quickly. They helped me greatly and I was able to acclimate easily to the
workplace.
In addition, they
play a key role in learning life. They are more mature and they have comprehensive
understandings that they experienced in their life. For instance, my younger
sister wanted to be an English teacher. However, she failed to pass the exam
even though she took over 3 years for only that exam. Her friends said that she
changed her goal so she was about to quit.
She finally consulted with parents. They told her their stories how they
overcame the difficulties in their life. As a result, she decided to have only last
test(마지막 한번,표현 맞나요?) and made it. Asking parents make a
contribution to her success.
To sum up, learning
useful tips and life lessons from older people leads to greater accomplishments
in various ways. In this regard, it is good for us to learn many things from older
people than peers.
