▶ Your Answer :
As the number of universities that are intrested in how
to attract top students is increasing every year, it is great worth to discuss
whether or not they should invest a lot of funds in Social Network Service. As
far as I am concerned, I am in favor of the latter for a couple of reasons.
To begin with, the majority of students virtually do
not have enough time to pay attention to Social Network Service. They are
always busy studying as much as feel even twenty four hours are not enough. Therefore,
investing a great deal of money in Social Network Service would not work in
attracting top students. For instance, when I was a student, my friends
including I were always cramed for studies, and in order not to make
students distracted, many schools even prevented students from using mobile
phones. Therefore, neither did we have spare time nor freely use smart
phones or laptops to do Social Networking. Moreover, high schools have much
information about universities that students would apply and mention about them every
Monday. In addtion to this, hometeacher regularly counsel students on
school choice privately and provide them with not only new information but also
many documents that they have collected for many years about each college. In
short, spending a lot of funds in Social Net work Service is not intelligent
decision. Another
point to rememeber is that, there are many other parts that universities should
put more weigh on. Brand new school facilities like gym and scholarships might
be not only main interests among candidates but also significantly influences a
college’s reputation. So, colleges put more weight on satisfying their students
with good enviroments and scholarships rather than on Social Net Work Service.
Indeed, many television news programs cover related contents that can support
my arguments. In one of the programs that I recenlty watched, about sixty
percent of the university students are not satisfied with their school. Though
tuition is raising every year, general facilities and scholar ships are not
upgraded at all and do not want to recommend their schools. Therefore,
universities put more weigh on satisfying their students thorugh upgrading facilities
and scholarship systems so as to make good reputation. Then, highschool
students would be naturally heard of it from their teachers. In short, the
better reputation among their students a college has, the more candidates who
are good in schools will apply to it. In order to make a good reputation,
universities pay attention to make better enviroments for their students, not
to spend money on Social Network Service.
As I have mentioned above, universities spending money
on Social Network Service is neither effective nor pragmatic in attracting
execellent applicants. I certainly disagree with the statement that
univeirsities should spend a lot of money so as to attract many good students .
