Some people think that the news media is
always credible information. However, in my opinion, I firmly believe that not
all the news media can be reliable. This is because many articles are biased
and there are many imprecise information on the internet. To begin with, most of the articles you can
find in the news media do not take the middle ground. Every media company has
political preference, and it means that the articles can be tilted to one side.
For example, a study was conducted by Korea
Media Research to determine how different views were written in problems about
North Korea. There were two media monitored. The first media posted negatively
about the problem and supported the ideas of conservative party. However, The
second media wrote positive news and advocated the opinion of progressive
party. This is because each media had different political inclination. This
study demonstrates that different views can be made about the same issue. On top of that, there are lots of fake
information on the internet. Many resources you can find on the internet do not
have any state where those came from. Thus, it could be improper information
from time to time. For example, I prepared my presentation for
my business class. I used lots of information from the internet without
filtering. I realized my mistakes after professor pointed out my wrong
references but it was too late. Eventually, I made poor marks on that class.
In a nutshell, news is not able to neutral
and information on the internet always should be checked whether it is
dependent. In this regard, I think that it the news media can be a unreliable
source. |
