▶ Your Answer :
Some people take it for granted that
leadership is given to only a specific person like a hero or heroine in an
ordinary movie. However, on the contrary to this, I think surely that anybody
who can be a leader on condition that he is capable of settling complicated problems
people face and has a desirable personality they like.
For starters, anybody who is able to clear
up troublesome matters people confront can become a head of a party. To
explain, in society, many people belong to various social gatherings in which
they are interested, like a sports club or voluntary service organization.
These groups may have thorny issues concerning human relationships among their
members or group-wide affairs, which is likely to disband the teams in the end.
Therefore, if someone resolves the troubles smoothly, the others will look up
to him or her as their leader spontaneously. As an example, a couple years ago,
when joining a soccer club in college for hobby, I saw some people arguing with
each other about who will be a captain of the team. What was worse, the team
was in need of money to buy uniforms and reserve a soccer field for games. As
time went by, not only the sports group almost did break up with severe
conflicts among the players as well as worsening funding situation, but nobody also
was willing to fix these crises at that time. However, another member, Casillas
Fernandez, tried to reconcile the disgruntled members, healing the breach of
the soccer fraternity. Besides, he persuaded the university administration to
fund the club’s activities more. Thanks to his endeavor, we did not worry about
the financial problem, and soon afterwards all the members chose him as our
captain unanimously.
On top of that, anyone who has a good character
everybody in a group prefer can be a leader of the organization. To be more
specific, generally, common people expect that leading figures in the modern
world, ranging from a head of department to a president of a nation, should
have healthy thoughts and sound minds, such as courage and diligence, because
these virtues make a community where the folks belong not only safe and robust
but also improved for their better lives. Thus, it is highly possible that they
will nominate whoever hold such dispositions as their leader. For instance, Winston
Churchill, a British prime minister who reigned during World War II, received
widespread support as well as respect from most of the Britons. This was
because he fought bravely against both Hitler and fascists who wreaked great
havoc on the whole of Europe, leading England to victory in the world-wide
battle. Moreover, he stabilized the country successfully through post-war
restoration projects such as repairing disconnected bridges, reconstructing
bombarded buildings, and providing shelters for war refugees from mainland
Europe. He worked night and day to finish these assignments as quickly as
possible for the people of Great Britain. Consequently, though he already died in
the past, a lot of the British public still love him as their prime minister,
hoping that another outstanding leader like Churchill leads them again in the
future.
To sum up, some might argue that leadership
skills are inherent to only specific people except for average ones. Hence,
leaders cannot come from these people. Nevertheless, I disagree with the
argument, owing to the idea that if somebody has an ability to fix problems of
a group and well-developed personality valuable for the members, he or she can be
a good leader of the team. |
