Undoubtedly, family plays a significant role in people’s daily lives in many of the places where they work or play. Some people think that it is not necessarily needed for families to have a meal together, while others do not. Both sides may have their own reasons to support their views. If I were asked to choose one, I would say that having family meals is still needed. There are several reasons as follows.
To begin with, having family meals allows people to improve their sense of responsibility. Scheduling with others requires a lot of obligations such as managing time, keeping a promise, and respecting others. When such obligations are fulfilled, they are likely to realize that it brings about a good result. For example, my youngest brother used to be lazy and selfish. One day, my mom required him to come home early and have dinner with all family members. He has changed little by little after he followed her suggestion. He realized that his punctuality helps him to make a good relationship with other family members while his laziness could affect negatively affect family. Naturally he became more prompt with time, played his part better and even encouraged me to responsible. Without this experience, he would still have been irresponsible.
In addition, it is necessarily required for families to have meals together because it helps relieve stress and restore health. To be specific, dinning with family members allows people to laugh and enjoy their time as well as feel comfortable. Stress is the main cause of disease and dissatisfying life. Therefore, people in modern society should actively find ways to reduce stress and stay healthy. For example, when I was in high school, I was stressed out due to studying university entrance exam so that I frequently got sick. One day, my mother suggested me to engage in family dinner in order to cheer me up. Then I started having dinner with my family members every day, my mother gave me delicious and nutritious dish. During that time, I talked to my family about my worries as well as anxiety, and my family listened to and embraced me. This helped me forget about my stressful aspects my daily life such as studying for an exam and writing papers. Through this experience I realized that having family meals is a significant role in removing stress. This shows that dinning with family members should be required in order to lead a healthy and fulfilling life.
