Some people think that teachers' earnings should not be based on their students' grades, because they believe it is unfair since students' ability of studying is different respectively. However, I disagree with the aforementioned statements for two reasons. This method can improve the quality of lectures and this fashion also can improve the relationship between teachers and students.
To begin with, teachers' earnings related to students' performances can have impact on the contents quality of teachings. Teachers will prepare their instructions for classes much more meticulously to improve their students' grades. I will give my personal experience as an example. When I was in second grade of high school, I was not a student who had good grades. However, after my school changed a the principle to give incentives to teachers if they made their students' grades higher than before, my teacher tired tried his best to improve his class students. With high quality instructions, I finally made good grades, and my teacher raised his income as well. This shows advantage of giving teachers' income based on students' performance.
On top of that, teachers' earnings linked to students' grades can be related to help the bond of teachers and students. Students' have numerous problems about their school lives. These matters made students could not concentrate on their school works. Hence, students will make an effort to solve these issues. For example, there was a poll conducted by Korea Board of Education with 200 university students as respondents. The purpose of the survey was to understand the consensus view whether personal problems could affect students' studying. An overwhelming 80% of respondents had responded that they got bad grades when they were faced with personal matters, since they could not focus on studying. To sum up, not only the quality of lectures but also relationship with teachers and students can be influenced by teachers' income. In this regard, I firmly believe that a teacher's earnings should be correlated to his or her students' performance.
