▶ Your Answer :
There might be some people who believe that it is preferable to specialize in one skill than to learn many skills if they want to achieve success, while others do not think this way. Both sides may have their own reason to support their views. If I had choose one, I would say that there are some circumstances where learning many skills can be better to succeed. There are several reasons as follows. To begin with, learning many skills enables them to improve social skills. When they try to learn many skills, This gives them a chance to mingle well with other people who they would not ordinarily meet. When they enhance their interpersonal skills, they can succeed in life. Let me bring up my personal example to describe this point. When I was in high school, I went to international school in indian to learn a foreign language. At that time, I had a chance to meet indian students who often ate their meals with bare hands. I felt very uncomfortable by their behavior. This is because it was my first time seeing someone act like this. However, after spending some times, I got accustomed to this cultural difference. I realized that we had a lot in common in a way that we all cared about our family and friends, were committed to our relationships, and got hurt by what others say. I no longer feel disgusting and still keep in touch with them. On top of that, learning a wide array of skills helps them to succeed in their companies. It is evident that many companies are gradually bigger and are requiring many workers to be knowledgable in a wide range of fields today, especially foreign languages. When they learn a diversity of language skills, this help them to work effectively. many research teams, For instance, including the Tokyo Research Center, analyzed data from two groups of workers in Star-K company. One group consisted of those who graduated high school that forced students to learn at least three languages and the other group was made up of those who graduated high school that did not. The researchers found that the former group had a high annual income than the latter. In particular, the first group could easily have access to a huge amount of information by reading foreign thesises and news, such as the New york Times. This lead them to be passionate in their tasks and develop task-performing skills. The second group could not deal with foreign journals, so it was difficult to work effectively. This clearly shows that many skills are a key factor of a successful life. All things considered, I firmly believe that people should learn various skills for the reasons I have mentioned above. All in all, learning many skills cannot be overestimated in the pursuit of success in life. |
