▶ Your Answer :
Undoubtedly, an
advice given by grandparents plays a significant role in people`s daily lives
in many of the places where they work or play. Some people think that advice
given by grandparents allows their grandchildren to be useful in modern
society, while others do not. Both sides may have their own reasons to support
their views. If I were asked to choose one, I would say that it is useful for
grandchildren to get advice from their grandparents in modern society. There
are several reasons as follows.
To
begin with, when people gain advice from their grandparents, it can improve
people`s work performance. Having lived a long time, grandparents have already
experienced many things in life, and thus they have a bigger view on matters
such as how to succeed, how to live happily, and how to socialize. Their
suggestions are likely to reduce the chances of making a mistake. For example,
my older brother did poorly in high school. He got distracted easily,
procrastinated, and acted on impulse. However, he has changed little by little
after spending thirty minutes talking to a his grandmother every weekend. He
realized that advice from a his grandmother helped him relax and refocus on his
schoolwork, while it could negatively affect his concentration without advice
by a his grandmother. He started to maintain a good behavior by raising his
grades in school. He showed characteristics of a longer attention span, a
stronger passion in his tasks, and a better ability to delay gratification. He
was able to excel all throughout high school and received straight A`s in his
classes. Without advice from a grandmother, he would have fallen behind.
In
addition, advice given by grandparents allows people to increase their overall
happiness. It gives them chances to feel relaxed and comfortable. When people
can be relaxed, they are likely to prevent them from being lonely and
stressful. For example, my older sister was in high school, she often felt
depressed thinking that her life became exhausting routine. To survive in a competitive
world, she spent the whole day studying all academic subjects, hoping that she
could outdo others. Although she made constant effort, it was not easy because
everyone was working as hard as she was. Fortunately, she was able to be less
stress by receiving advice from her grandfather. By doing this, she was able to
see positive results she contributed to.
All
things considered, the getting advice from grandparents is still more useful in
modern society for the reasons I have mentioned above. All in all, the
importance of receiving advice from grandparents cannot be overestimated. |
