An intriguing topic of discussion at hand is whether saving money for the future of spending it on trips. It may seem true that spending money on traveling is better; however, with in-depth analysis, the statements seem rather too far-fetched. Although people may hold different ideas and opinions, I personally support the idea that B on account of two following reasons which I am going to elaborate: people need to prepare for unexpected accidents and keep the quality of life after their retirement. First of all, people should be ready for an accident which can arise suddenly. As far as the fact that emergency may happen any time is concerned, it is never too important for people to get ready for them. For example, I have one friend whose family always spent extra income on going on a trip. She would tell me fascinating stories about many cities and countries which she had been. One day, however, her brother injured seriously in a car accident, which nobody expected to happen. Even his medical insurance covered a considerable amount of money, his family still had a bill to pay which was much larger than their savings. Consequently, they went through tough time to get that money and don’t spend money on family trips anymore. On top of that, money enables people to keep the quality of life after their retirement. People these days live longer than in the past after they quit a job which means facing to a new chapter of life without the regular income. Without enough saving for the future, people would not be able to not only enjoy their life but also sustain basic human rights such as safety. Indeed, a study recently conducted by the National Institute of Korea in well align with this statement. According to the study, almost half of the participants answered that they don’t have enough money for the life after retirement. Further, their opinions are supported by logical reasons which are similar to that of mine. The study also suggests that people save money more for keeping on living on after they retire. In a nutshell, it seems reasonable to claim that saving money for the future is a better choice than spending it on going on a trip because of the two reasons that I mentioned above; for preparing emergent situations and for a life after quitting a job. Since views on life and values differ among individuals, it seems that this subject will remain controversial. |
