▶ Your Answer :In our contemporary society, most of the
parents want to help their children to get ready for their future life after
they become an adult. And many people assert that encouraging kids to take a
part-time job can help them to make a better preparation for their adult life,
while others think they must focus on study not to take any part-time job.
Despite of strong arguments between both sides, I, however, believe that taking
a part-time job can be a great tool for teenagers to prepare for adult life.
There are several reasons to illustrate my points. To begin with,
the significance of taking a part time job to developing independent personalities
and sense of responsibility can never be exaggerated. This reminds my friends
Min Jae. He was a spoiled kid when he was a high school student. His parents
did everything for him: cleaning his room, washing his clothes, and taking him
to school every single day. After he graduated his high school, his parents
encouraged him to take a part-time job, and he was feeling too boring that I
took this advice and got a part-time job in a restaurant. At first, he had to
adapt himself to new environment with new atmosphere. He also was scolded a lot
from his boss for not being capable of washing dishes. But he worked
really hard and learned quickly. After a month, he
changed greatly: he take all the responsibility for his
action, and become much more independent and now he no longer relies on his
parents.
Last
but not least, taking part-time job can broaden student’s horizon. Students are
forced to study arduous subjects, and they do not learn any practical skills.
If they take part-time job, they will have many chances to meet different kinds
of people and to do so they can learn interpersonal skills which they would
never learnt from book. Even after they graduate high school and university,
they can survive from brutal competition from job marketing since they already
have experience of working in a real society.
To
sum up, it is being absurd if parents obstinately insist their children to not
taking part-time job. Through taking part-time job, teenagers will be able to
have strong sense of responsibility and independent personalities and they will
also earn valuable lessons and experiences for taking part-time job. |
