Recently, the general awareness whether including video games to the class for young children is good or not has aroused a heated argument. There are conflicitng opinions concerning to this topic; while some people say that it is helpful in a benefit of making them have interest in the lesson, others deem otherwise. From my own point of view, I am in agreement with the former stance. The two ideas below can be valid to substantiate my opinion.
To begin with, by watching video games' visual material, children's degree of understanding can be increasing. To be specific, just reading books and write equations are inefficient for understanding. The more material teachers use, the easier children study. For instance, there was a study conducted by Korean Educational Institution. The researchers compared two group of six aged children. They both studied addition and subtraction which they have never seen before; first group were educated through marketing video program, another studied with a math book and testment. Both groups had exam about they studied and what the researchers found was intriguing. The score of the first group was much higher than the second group. For this reason allowing video game to the lesson is wise decision since it helps children understand well.
On top of that, since young children have low ability of concentration, it is hard for them to study continuously with only a book. But, if teachers use video games, the students will have interest to the lesson. To further explain this, here is an example of my friend. She is a teacher of elementary school and she assigned first year children. At first she had a hard time since the students didn't listen her and always walked around during the class. To change this, she made use of video games. The effect was enormous. The children sat down gently and concentrated well on the lesson. Without video games, she said she might resign teacher. Therefore, it is good to include video games to the class since for the young children they aid concentration.
Looking above statements, without any doubt, I firmly think that video games are good for the class in an aspect of understanding and concentration.
