▶ Your Answer : | Consumer
protection is an important right for customers. They have the right to use or
buy the products without worries. Some people think consumer protection has to
be regulated by the government for consumer safety. On the other hand, others
argue that it has to depend on the producer who makes the goods or provides the
services. The reason for this opinion is if consumer protection regulated by the government, the cost will be imposed to consumer and it will increase the
price. Also, they can point out some big companies can get out the regulation
by using various ways. Even though these opinions, I think consumer protection
has to be regulated by the government. Consumers have to buy the products
without caring for their safety, If there is no regulation by the government,
there will be more illegal business, and it will be easy to punish when there
is a regulation by the government. First, The consumer doesn’t need to concern their safety when they buying the goods.
Consumers buy goods for their satisfaction or for their needs. There is nothing
that can instead of the happiness that comes from shopping. Regulation by the
government can little add more price compare to the voluntary efforts of the
producers. However, when any accidents occur about safety because of
insufficient consumer protection, consumer satisfaction of goods will be
decreased and they will not use the company since they don’t feel safety of
that company. Then the company will get an impact too. For example, in Korea
had the incident that one Humidifier company used cheap liquidity but harmful
to the body. The ramification of liquidity reaction didn’t come right away, but
it occurred after a few years later. It affected people’s lungs, and some kids
died because of this humidifier. This company didn’t think about the consumer
protection regulation, they just used harmful liquidity because of their
profit. Like this example, a lack of strict regulation can be related to
unsafety to customers. Second, it
will be easy to create an illegal business without rigid regulation. Opposite
sides can argue that there will also have even though the government regulates
the business. It is true even though the government regulates the protection
the illegal business will emerge. However, if we don’t regulate the protection
by government more illegal business doesn’t have to worry about the punishment
so they will not feel guilty for their illegal business. Because of these
happens, consumers can affect directly. Lastly, it
will be much easier to ask fault to the producer who didn’t meet the consumer
protection regulation. The law can ask for the fine, and it can also detain seller
or producer. To avoid the penalty they will care more for the regulations. For
example, It will make it illegal when the seller selling the weeds. Still, some
sellers sell the weeds, and some customers try to buy the weed in the black
market. However, when it discovered by police the seller can be sentenced by
the court. For this example, when we regulate the protection of the customer as
a law, it will make a clear to judge.
In
conclusion, I think regulating the goods by the government is helpful to
protect the consumer. Even though there will be a little bit charged for that.
Nevertheless, because the consumer has the right to buy the goods without
concern, the black market will be more prevalent, and it will help to judge
their frivolity. Because of these reasons, I think regulation by the government is
essential for the business world. | | | | |
