Dancing
1. E: Do you enjoy dancing? (Why/Why not?)
C: Yes, I do. I'm most interested in ballroom dancing. It's wonderful to dance with an amazing melody.
2. E: Has anyone ever taught you to dance? (Why/Why not?)
C: You bet. I've attended dance training in a community college. The teachers are so great. They taught me both modern dancing like hip-hop and a little bit of ballroom dancing. But, I have forgotten a lot.
3. E: Tell me about any traditional dancing in your country. .
C: The traditional dancing I'd like to say is "Yangge Dance" . It's very popular in most parts of Northern China. Yangge Dance is usually accompanied with traditional mu-sical instruments like Suona horn, drum and things like that. The dancers normally
dress up in bright colour like red, green or pink, holding a fan or handkerchief. In the evenings of Beijing, you might watch so many old people have the dance.
4. E: Do you think that traditional dancing will be popular in the future? (Why/Why not?)
C: I'm not quite sure if the traditional dancing will be more popular in the future, but at least nternational people have started to admire the kind of dancing. For exam-ple, some of my foreign friends have told me they had ever learnt how to have the typical Chinese dance.

Well, the person I choose to talk about is my daddy, who is now running a small business in fashion. Actually I have been living with my parents since I was born. We often have a talk about my life and career. To be honest everyone who has ever seen my father and me say I take after him. He's not tall but a bit heavy; he's got an ordinary-looking face with short and black hair. His eyes are so bright and big. Besides, he's the kind of person who has a good sense of humor and is so calm. He often tells a lot of jokes. When I feel stressed out and even annoyed, he often persuades me to calm down and think twice before move. Actually there are many rea-
sons why I love him. He's mature, humorous and responsible, but the most important one is that he teaches me how to live in a very way and attitude. Whatever, he's the person who de-serves admiring and respecting.

Family similarities
1. E: In what ways can people in a family be similar to each other?
C: First of all, the children might take after either of their parents. Actually I take af-ter my mom so much. Second of all, they might share the common hobbies like sports or games. I sometimes tend to play the game of "Monopoly" with my father, who has been playing the game for many years. Interestingly I am also similar to my mom in characters. We're both easy-going and sociable.
.
2. E: Do you think that daughters are always more similar to mothers than to male rela-tives?
C: No, I don't think so. It depends. For example, my young cousin has been living with her father, since her morn worked in USA many years ago. She couldn't see her mom more than 5 or 6 times per year. So, I've found that she was quite like her daddy, I mean, my uncle. Their voice, gesture and even the facials are more or less similar. One more thing, they both like traveling and drinking teas. So it's hard for me to accept the idea that daughters are always more similar to mothers than to male relatives.
3. E: What about sons and fathers?
C: I remember that a popular saying goes, "Like father, like son. " I guess it is very interesting. Actually I don't think I am quite similar to my daddy in many ways. First of all, he is the person who is very shy and enjoys reading, while I'm quite sociable and out-going. In addition, I dislike the meats or greasy food, but they are his cup of tea.
4. E: In terms of personality, are people more influenced by their family or by their friends? In what ways?
C: As far as personality is concerned, families are always playing the most important role. In the growth of a child, the most important stage of developing the personality is childhood, when they normally lived with their parents. What they do and say would make a very important influence on the children. To prove it, if the parents always imply the child should be the best, he might be confident. Also, if the parents always criticize the child, he could be less confident.
Genetic research
5. E: Where can people in your country get information about genetic research?
C: It depends. The people who are good at using computers sometimes tend to search the information on Internet or on a particular BBS. The most popular website might be "New Scientists", which is very useful with all kinds of new genetic resear- ches. On the other hand, for most of ordinary citizens, they might get to know a bit about it on TV news or radio. The new genetic research result can always be re- ported as soon as possible.
6. E: How do people in your country feel about genetic research?
C: Actually I don't know exactly what most of people think about it. But I have known some ideas from my parents. They think that the genetic research is really useful, and that the result can be used in medicine some day. When that day is coming, more people will benefit a lot. However, some of my friends don't think it is a good idea to spend a lot of money on the genetic research. They say that it has nothing to do with their life.
7. E: Should this research be funded by governments or private companies? Why?
C: I believe that the Government should be responsible for funding genetic research in most of cases. No one knows how long the research will take, and how much the re-search needs exactly. The Government should have the chance to spend enough mon-ey in the program in succession. But I doubt if private companies could take such a heavy responsibility and will do it.
