RECEPTIONIST: This is Bristol Holistic Health Club. How may
I help you?
CUSTOMER: Uh, yes. Um, is this the yoga studio?
RECEPTIONIST: Well, yes. Our club does include a yoga and
Pilates studio, as well as a meditation centre, a nutritional counselling
centre, and a juice bar.
CUSTOMER: Great, great. Yes, this is what my friend was
telling me about. You might know her...Jenny Brighton?
RECEPTIONIST: Right. I do know Jenny. She’s been coming here
for quite a long time now.
CUSTOMER: Yeah, and she suggested I join the club as
well. I’m trying to take better care of my health after watching my father
suffer from a heart attack last month. It was really dreadful.
RECEPTIONIST: Mmm.
CUSTOMER: So, if I’m a member of your club, do I have
access to everything you mentioned? I mean, the centres, the juice bar, the
studio...
RECEPTIONIST: That depends on the type of membership you
choose. But with even the most basic membership, you can attend most of the
yoga, Pilates, and meditation classes.
CUSTOMER: Uh-huh. And the nutritional counselling?
RECEPTIONIST: That costs extra. They are private sessions.
CUSTOMER: Right. Are they, um, expensive?
RECEPTIONIST: I’m not sure how to answer that. I guess it
depends on your budget. One session, which lasts about an hour, runs about £20.
CUSTOMER: I see. A bit on the high end for the likes of
me.
RECEPTIONIST: As for the juice bar, you just pay for whatever
you order.
CUSTOMER: Yeah, uh, speaking of that...what exactly is
served at a juice bar?
RECEPTIONIST: It has freshly squeezed fruit juices,
vegetables juices made with a juicer, and wheatgrass shots.
CUSTOMER: Ah! I’ve heard about those shots. They’re
supposed to give you bursts of energy, right?
RECEPTIONIST: That’s the idea. For me they work wonders.
CUSTOMER: I’ll definitely give it a go.
RECEPTIONIST: It doesn’t hurt to try, anyway.
CUSTOMER: Could you tell me about the membership
options?
RECEPTIONIST: We have a basic membership for £40 per month.
With that, you can go to any of the large group classes. For another £10, or
£50, you can also take the small group classes in the evenings with a platinum
membership. They have a maximum 5-person class size, so you can
get more individual attention from the instructor.
CUSTOMER: And private classes?
RECEPTIONIST: We can arrange those. But there isn’t a set
fee. The instructors each charge differently.
CUSTOMER: I see. And are there discounts if you pay for
several months in advance?
RECEPTIONIST: What was that?
CUSTOMER: Discounts...for advanced payment.
RECEPTIONIST: Oh, sure. If you pay three months up front,
you receive a 20 percent discount off the total. We have an annual membership
as well, which equates to about 30 percent savings.
CUSTOMER: OK. Hmm... What if I need to cancel for some
reason?
RECEPTIONIST: We have a 15-day cancellation policy. If you
give us 15 days warning, we’ll refund you 70 percent of the remainder of your
membership.
CUSTOMER: That’s starting from when I tell you, or after
the 15 days?
RECEPTIONIST: After the 15 days.
CUSTOMER: OK.
RECEPTIONIST: Right now we are also running an exclusive
online sale. Purchase a membership through our website and you’ll get £15 off,
regardless of which membership option you choose.
CUSTOMER: Oh great! And what’s your website address?
RECEPTIONIST: www.bristolholisitic.co.uk. Please let them know I referred you.
CUSTOMER: Absolutely. And your name?
RECEPTIONIST: Maddie Sastry.
CUSTOMER: Could you spell the last name please?
RECEPTIONIST: S-A-S-T-R-Y.
CUSTOMER: Thank you.
RECEPTIONIST: Any more questions?
CUSTOMER: No, I think that’s just fine. I’ll be seeing
you soon, I’m sure.
RECEPTIONIST: Lovely. Have a good day then.
