Part one What types of music do you like to listen to? - Well, it depends on the mood, actually, but I usually listen to some sort of energetic music which gives me energy. At what times of day do you like to listen to music? - Well, I think whenever I study and walk on the street or goes to school or working places, I always listen to music. So I can say most of the time, I listen to music. Did you learn to play a musical instrument when you were a child?

- Well, yes, I did. I learned to play the piano when I was 6 years old, but unfortunately, I wasn't really into it, so I remember that I only learned it about one year.

Do you think all children should learn to play a musical instrument? - Well, I don't really think so because even if it's a good thing that you can play any musical instrument but if you or your children are not really interested in it, I think it's pointless.

Part two

Describe a shop near where you live that you sometimes use. You should say what sort of products or service it sells, what the shops look like, where it is located and explain why you use this shop. - Well, talking about the shop near my house that I sometimes visit, I would like to introduce a coffee shop which is called 'twosome place'. It is kind of a really famous franchise in Korea. And when you get in there, it looks like a really typical coffee shop that you can easily find in South Korea.

It has wide tables and the pretty comfortable sofas and chairs, which are really good for sitting and chatting for a while. And the good thing is that it is located in a 10 minute walk apart from my house. Ah, so that's why I can visit there really often. And for me, the reason I visit there often is because I can study by myself at that coffee shop. Actually I can do my study in my house but it's a bit hard for me to focus on study at home. So I prefer going to the coffee shop which is near my house and do the works that I have to do.

Part three

What types of local businesses are there in your neighborhood? Are there any restaurants, shops or dentists for example? - Yes, sure. Talking about the local businesses around my house, I would say mostly they are restaurants, coffee shops and sometimes the self-serviced ice cream shops. This is because our neighborhood is kind of an area for the residents who have young children. I think the major customer should be their mothers and also children. And this is because our neighborhood is kind of a place for only apartments and elementary schools, something like that.

I mean there's no any company or institution for the workers. So anyway, that's why I can see many restaurants and coffee shops. I think those are for parents who have free time after they take their children to the school and they usually go to the restaurant and coffee shops to chat together.

And for the self-service ice cream shops, those places are definitely for the children after school. Yeah that's pretty much it.

Do you think local businesses are important for a neighborhood in what way? - Well, I think local businesses are definitely important for a neighborhood because especially for our neighborhood there's a thing that the public transportation here is quite inconvenient so there should be enough infrastructure and enough facilities for residents here to enjoy because it's really hard to go out from our neighborhood. So their only options are the local businesses and that's why I think the local businesses are really important for our neighborhood.

How do large shopping malls in commercial centers affect small local businesses? Why do you think that is.

- well, if there's any large shopping malls or commercial centers in my neighborhood, I think it will definitely affect the local businesses. This is because the large shopping malls and commercial center, they are more possible to have more famous and more powerful brands than the local businesses because the owners of those places are mostly the companies, not the individuals.

But for the local businesses, I assume that the owners mostly would be the individuals, so from competitive advantages I think those large shopping malls have more advantages than the local businesses. So actually they would attract more customers than local businesses.

But I think small local businesses also have their benefits, especially from the aspect on the connections with individuals.

For example, if there's any small shops near the apartment, there would be some people often visit the shop and it's easier for them to make the connections with the customers. But for the large shopping malls, it's almost impossible to build the individual connections by themselves. So I can say there's some sort of PROs and cons for small local businesses.

Why do some people want to start their own business? - Well, I think this phenomenon is because of the income is not enough for the salaryman. And there's another reason for this phenomenon is that they want to do their own things, not the things that the company require you to do.

As a salaryman, I worked at one company for over five years, and sometimes it makes me really vague because I'm just a small part of the big company.

So sometimes I don't really have the right to impose my opinion, or there's even no chance at all for me to show my ability because I'm just a small part of the company.

So the only thing I need to do is just do the things what the company required me to do. So I think from these reasons I think some people would want to start their own businesses for to show their creativities and their own abilities or something like that.

Are there any disadvantages to running a business which is the most serious? - Well, obviously there's a disadvantages to running a business is that it's too risky. You know, compared to the normal salaryman, they don't really need to take the risk because they're under the company which is really secure and guarantee your stable job.

But for running a business, you have to analyse the condition of the market and also the behaviors of customers. There are a bunch of things you need to do to survive from the changing markets. So, in short, it is so risky for a person who run a business to survive from the market.

What are the most important qualities that a good business person needs? Why is that?

- Well, I think the most important quality that a business person need to have is it's the sense of the trend, because it is really important for the businessman to detect the trend and put it into practice, otherwise, it's really, really hard to survive from the changing market and changing society and of course the changing needs of customers. So even though you are really diligent, hardworking and really considerate, but it is personally, I think it is useless if you aren't really good at detecting those trends from the changing society because running a business is a thing that you can do to satisfy your customers.

But if you don't know what kind of trends are going on I think it will be a big challenge for you to satisfy the customers.
