PART 1
Where do you usually watch TV programmes/shows?
I usually watch TV shows on Youtube. It is because in my dormitory, there is no television. Therefore, I can't see any live show or TV programmes on television, so I have to watch them on electric devices such as iPad, or smartphone. Therefore, one of the means that I can use for watching TV shows is Youtube, and because the accessibility of Youtube is really increasing these days, so I can watch whatever I want by searching on Youtube.
What's your favourite TV programme/show?
My favourite TV programme is called '신서유기'. It is based on Eastern myth, which is about people looking for dragon ball. The main reason that I like that programme is that it is really humourous. Although I really don't like comedy show, this TV programme is funnier than comedy show, so I always laugh when I see every episode. It is kind of adventurous TV show, but it is mainly about solving quiz and completing quest to obtain a dragon ball. If they collect seven dragon balls, then the producer gives them presents whatever they want. Therefore, watching them successing their quests is quite thrilling for me, so I really like that TV show.
Are there any programmes/shows you don't like watching?
I don't like watching dramas that are on TV in the morning. They are dramas that is targeted on women whose age group is 30 to 40 years old. Because of this reason, those dramas are about love story, but it is really predictable, so I don't like watching them. The best example is the story about girl who is really poor and boy who is really rich. However, it is figured out that the girl is actually stepsister of the boy. Because it is really hard to experience those stories in reality, I don't like watching that kind of dramas.
Do you think you will watch more TV or fewer TV programmes/shows in the future?
I think I will not watch more TV shows or TV programmes in the future in the future. It is because there are other medias that I can watch videos except for TVs these days. Some examples are Youtube, Netflix, and TV application that is ran by portal sites such as Daum or Naver. Apart from Naver TV which still shows TV programme or TV show, we can watch movies or videos that made by Youtube or Netflix themselves. Especially, a lot of Youtubers are being popular these days, so I think I would watch Youtube rather than TV programme in the future, because Youtube usually reflects our reality more than TVs.
PART 2
Describe someone you know who has started a business.
You should say:
who this person is
what work this person does
why this person decided to start a business
and explain whether you would like to do the same kind of work as this person.
There are several famous people who has started a business. And one of them is Steve Jobs, who is dead right now, but started a company called 'Apple' which became really big these days. He made some creative innovations such as iPad, iPod, or iPhone. I don't know why he exactly started a business, but I guess he decided to start the business because he wanted to express his evolution spirit. His thinking was different from other people, so he wanted to show his own product that is different from other people's product. I would like to do the same kind of work as him, because I also major computer science, and one of my dream is to make innovative products that can change the world in a positive view. Therefore, Steve Jobs became my role model for his work and I want to follow what he did.
PART 3
What kinds of jobs do young people not want to do in your country?
In our country, young people don't want to do works that is not paid well. Because we're living in a country where capitalism is prevalent, young people need money and that became the reason why majority of young people are looking for a workplace. Therefore, young people started to get a job which pays well, so they don't want to get jobs which are not paid compared to their effort such as clerks in service centre, or people who are cleaning on the street, or the delivery man. So I think the lack of money for young people made them avoid jobs, which are not paid well.
Who is best at advising young people about choosing a job: teachers or parents?
I think parent are best at advising young people about choosing a job. In my experience, teachers advised based on how students' choice will affect teachers themselves. For example, when I was going to choose my major for university and my job, Teachers advise me which is high-paid and whose reputation is really good. And one of the reasons is that teachers can use them as their careers, so usually teachers don't consider the real personality or trait of students. However, because students are real biological children of their parents, so parents usually advise more related to students, or young people. Therefore, I think parents who cared for young people longer than teachers, and who wants their kids flourish, are better for advising which job to choose for young people.
Is money always the most important thing when choosing a job?
Although it is a common belief that money should be the most important thing when choosing the job, but I think other things can be more important than money, such as what the person is interested in, or what he or she is good at. In my experience, I want to be a computer programmer but if I considered money, I would be a CEO or doctor in Korea. However, because I'm not good at watching blood like a doctor or I'm not good at administrating business, so if I get a job that is really paid well, then I would not make a lot of achievements because I'm not good at it. But if I choose jobs that I can express what I'm good at or what I'm interested in, then I would enjoy that job and although the pay is not very well, I can do more achievement for that company. Therefore, I think money is not always the most important thing when choosing the job.
