It is true that there are many opinions about
the food that travels thousands of miles to be consumed by the customers. Some argue
that people should eat the food produced in the local region, which can lead to
positive results for the environment and economy. This essay will discuss about
the reason why people should consume not only the local food, but also the
international food.
In my opinion, first of all, consuming the
food from the international markets contribute to verify the diet of the
people. Since there are many geographical limitations that produce various kind
of the food in only the local region, people can not keep the variation in
their diet if they only consume the local food. For instance, in the regions surrounded
by the sea, although most people in there need enough fruits and crops, there
are few fruits and crops that produced in that region because of the salty component
in the ground. Furthermore, a new has shown that after most countries started
to trade the food with other countries, the residents living those countries have
become much healthier than the past.
Secondly, the consumption of the food be
traded among the countries can improve the economy of the overall countries. This
is because it can extend the size of the market of countries that are not limited
in the local food market. By broadening the whole size of the food market, the
farmer sells the food not only to the local people, but also other persons that
live in other countries. In addition, it can lead to the creation of the jobs that
deliver the food to the oversea or other regions.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that there
are many beneficial results from consuming the international food compared to the
only consumption of the local food.
