In the past, people stored knowledge in books. Nowadays people store knowledge on the internet. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
It is true that people used to store
knowledge in papers. And people keep knowledge on the Internet these days. Some
people claim that the main advantage is that we can store knowledge securely.
However, other people argue that the crucial disadvantage is that if we cannot
access the Internet, we cannot look at the knowledge.
On one hand, there are people saying that
storing knowledge on the Internet in only for people who have money. To be
precise, we need electronic devices such as computers and smart phones to look
at the knowledge. Therefore, people who cannot afford to buy such things cannot
read the knowledge. Books are much cheaper than electronics. Even we can borrow
or read books at libraries for free. With amount of knowledge on the Internet
increasing, people who don’t have access to the Internet will be ignorant.
On the other hand, other people arguing
that saving knowledge on the Internet is much more efficient. Speaking of
resources, if we keep knowledge in books, we need a lot of papers and pen. By
contrast, if we store knowledge on the Internet, we just need battery to use electronic
devices. Furthermore, we can share knowledge with our friends and family with
just one click. For these reasons, we have to store knowledge on the Internet.
In conclusion, as stated above, both views
have strong points. However, keeping knowledge on the Internet is more
effective and environmentally-friendly way. Thus, it is better to store
knowledge on the Internet than in the books.
