The chart represents information on the proportion of the
amount of water used for three purposes in different six areas in the world.
Overall, all areas used the most water for the agriculture
except for North America and Europe. In contrast, the proportions for
industrial use in North America and Europe were the larger than the other
purposes.
It is notable that more than 50% of water was utilized for
agricultural use in South East Asia, Central Asia, Africa and South America.
The figures for them were 81%, 88%, 84 and 71%, respectively. The percentages
of the other two purposes were nearly equal in Africa and Central Asia.
However, the gap between them in South American was 9%, as the figures were
accounted for 19% for the domestic use and 10% for industrial use.
By contrast, the percentage of water used for industrial use
was 48% and 53% in North American and Europe. The figures for agricultural use
were 39% and 32% in the two areas, while those for domestic use took up the
smallest part, recording to only 13% and 15%. |
