Working voluntarily is very common amongst young people. In this regard, it is often argued it is beneficial to encourage them to keep doing the unpaid work. However, some people say that it has more downsides. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons why it can be a problem of the society and the young.
Especially for young students, there are already many more responsibilities that they have to take. For example, university students have to spend more of their time on studying. However, this often gives them so much pressure because graduating successfully is not easy even though they study hard. For them, unpaid voluntary work can be an another burden, and they will not be able to help people sincerely.
Also, having unpaid jobs to help others in the same community is not easy even for older people, and it is unfair to force the young to do it. If there is the demanding work, it should be allocated to the older and much richer people because they are better at handling their financial status when unpaid jobs might threaten it. If young people have to do it, there will be not many people who can keep making the same efforts.
In conclusion, doing some unpaid work and helping people can disadvantage young people. This is because they are already unpaid members of the society and should focus their energy to be paid first. |
