What are the advantages and disadvantages of
advertising on consumers?
Nowadays, most people
are surrounded by a great number of advertisements, which has the drawback of
showing misleading information of the advertised products and the benefit of helping
to save shopping time. In this essay, I am going to explore the two different
sides of advertising on consumers.
First of all, a
host of product images shown on a TV commercial is much more distorted and
exaggerated in comparison with how they are in reality. This is mainly because the
objective of advertisements is to persuade viewers to buy the goods making the
companies a profits, which would discourage them if the actual product is quite
different from the information given in the advertising. Additionally, glamorous,
successful people employed for advertising purposes is one of the most
misleading factors contributing to misplaced buying habits. It is >> 길어서 끊어드렸구요 because 앞뒤론 콤마가 안 붙습니다 because the
customers’ appearance or life is more likely to be better if they use the same
product with the celebrities. Therefore, purchasers bombarded by advertisements
are being confused due to the fact that receiving accurate data related to the
products is difficult.
On the other hand,
advertising is greatly beneficial for consumers to save time. It enables them
to spend a short deal of time on seeking the products to meet their requirements
because they have already been informed about a large number of standard goods
through advertising. Consequently, consumers are able to buy the products
without wasting their time.
In summary, although both perspectives are comprehensible and reasonable arguments, I absolutely agree with that advertisements play a role of a time saver for purchasers. The reason why advertising has more advantages than disadvantages is that no one can buy time with money.
