Overall, it is clear that almost every country produced electricity more than they consumed, except the case of Germany. Germany was the only country whose consumption of electricity surpassed the production of it. Meanwhile, China and United States produced and consumed electricity in overwhelming scale, compared to other eight countries. Looking at the chart more closely, one can see that the production and consumption of electricity in China was so enormous that it was bigger than the sum of United states and Russia, reaching 5,398 billion kWh and 5,322 billion kWh in each category. Even though the total production and consumption in United States were less than China, it produced nearly 3,000 billion kWh and consumed about 2,800 billion kWh more than the third biggest country, Russia. Moreover, the margin between electricity production and consumption was biggest in United States, producing 233 billion kWh more than it consumed. |
