Your Answer ▼ The bar graph shows the changes in the age distribution of Korean people from 1996 to 2017 by
separating the whole population of Korea into three groups of Elderly, Working Age, and Children.
Overall, it is clear that the Working Age group is the dominant group, accounting for over 70 percent in each period and going up and down slightly several times.
Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that the proportion of the Elderly group increased gradually from its lowest point of 5.9 percent to a peak of 14.2 percent. From 1996 to 2015, it had the second highest proportion of the three age groups, but it had surpassed that of the Children group by 2017. In contrast, the percentage of the Children group dipped moderately, almost halving at the end of the period compared to the 1996 figure. |
