▶ Your Answer :
It is generally agreed that significant benefits for food such as more
choices and a wider sort of foods have been gained from the advancement of
technology. Regarding this, some assert that fruits and vegetables grown by
organic farming are still more healthful for human. However, I strongly believe
that, despite the drawbacks caused by agricultural technology such as genetic
modified products and pesticides, it has more productivity improvement and
enjoyment.
On the one hand, it is a generally acknowledged fact that a human body
prefers organic foods than non-organic products containing some chemical
additives or agricultural pesticides. The severity of non-organic food can be
seen in many countries where large scale farms are operated. According to the
research conducted by Seoul National University, the children who eat only
organic foods usually have much stronger immune system than those who don’t.
Furthermore, the apples grown by organic method have more 20 percent of calcium
than other ones grown by conventional way. These examples illustrate organic
products are still better to stay our bodies healthy.
On the other hand, innovative development in agricultural science has
brought a superb productivity growth and an abundance of food. Without today’s
technological development, people would not be able to enjoy some of the
advantages. For example, people would not be able to taste tropical fruits in
winter. Also, it would be impossible to run a massive farm or orchard by only
little labor, especially in modern society suffering from labor shortage.
Therefore, technological development in agriculture indeed provides us with
notable benefits.
In conclusion, although non-organic foods are less nutritious than organic
products, agricultural technology development has brought great benefits to our
contemporary society. There is no doubt that without this innovations, we would
not be privileged with efficient productivity and enjoyment to eat any fruits
through the year. |
