Your Answer ▼ It is a common belief that living in a rural area is better for children's growth than an urban area. However, I firmly believe that a city is a better place for raising children because it can provide more cultural experiences and children can avoid many dangerous situations there.
To begin with, children in a city can enjoy much more kinds of activities than those in a countryside. As there are a number of people with different tastes and backgrounds in a city, various cultural events are held and many relative facilities are built in those areas. Kids living there can accumulate wide knowledge and develop their own tastes by participating various activities. For example, many of my friends who have lived in a city has deeper understanding on cultural artworks like musicals or opera than me who could not have a chance to enjoy those genres in childhood.
On top of that, a city can be a more safer place for children as facilities for safety is well prepared. In the countryside, it is hard to deal with some serous accidents instantly. For example, it is difficult to detect the criminal who committed crimes to children as the number of CCTV is extremely fewer. Plus, kids cannot be treated appropriately even when they get injured seriously, as they live far from medical facilities. It means that the things which is natural in a city is not common in a countryside.
To sum up, children in a city can get more chances for cultural experiences and live under safer conditions than in a countryside. For these reasons, it is advantageous for children to grow up in urban areas. |
