Over the past decades, the advance of mobile technology has significantly changed our lives and the usage of mobile devices became the most preferred means in acquiring information. Regarding this, although many assert that the Internet will replace the traditional books soon, I consider that the published materials will still play an important role.
To begin with, several points can explain why the Internet will be the major median instead of the printed books. First of all, individuals can easily access to information as readers can find the information what they look for regardless of time and monetary limitation without going to library or spending money. In addition, Internet resources are available to be updated easily since those can be instantaneously adjusted with simple steps. Accordingly, the users can continuously get the latest data instead of waiting for traditional revised editions.
Yet, the Internet will not replace the printed books eventually for several reasons. Above all, the materials published can provide more reliable information compared to other sources since some of information in the web is likely to have inaccurate and biased opinion. Moreover, the usage of Internet is still not available to many individuals in the world. According to many researches, 25% of global population still do not have an access to Internet in undeveloped and Africa countries.
In conclusion, I regard that the usage of the Internet in order to gather information will become more popular than published books in the future, however, the existence of published materials will not be disappeared in the longterm considering its reliability and unlimited access to information of the global readers.
